The Staircase of the King of Aragon IMG_7403

Viewed from above the crystal Mediterranean. Used to invade the island of Corsica, the city of Bonafacio under the darkness of night. Each step is less than 6 or 8 inches wide, barely enough for the ball of your feet, almost straight down.

Megayachts ply the beautiful Mediterranean Sea carrying the rich and famous. The entrance to Bonifacio harbor on the southernmost tip of Corsica, France, is a haven for French and Italian yachts.

The much-photographed haute ville of Bonafacio, Corsica, is a maze of narrow streets flanked by tall Genoese tenements, rises seamlessly out of sheer cliffs that have been hollowed and striated by the wind and waves, while on the landward side the deep cleft between the peninsula and the mainland forms a perfect natural harbour. A haven for boats for centuries, this inlet is nowadays a chic marina that attracts yachts from around the Med.

The medieval old-town of Bonifacio is the oldest town in Corsica, based above a natural harbour on the site of a 9th century citadel, on a white limestone peninsula, with many of the tall sturdy houses along cobbled streets in a spectacular setting along the top of the cliffs.

Corsica, 2008. Might as well have been 1492. Not much has changed in this timeless town on the island of Corsica.
Having a really hard time naming this image. It's powerful, timeless, gentle...

It happens everyday, It's different everyday. The setting sun lures and fascinates us as it takes its daily sojourn, boling into the ocean or sinking behind majestic mountain peaks. Here are a few of my favorite sunsets.
