Ibis Flight-1517
Shot in the late evening in the Big Cypress swamp and processed with Lightroom 4 beta version. for some reason this image has garnered an unusual ammount of attention on my Facebook page. I'm posting it here to see if it gets a similar reaction.
New Image, difficult contrasty image. Handheld, 450mm lens, slow shutter speed, high ISO, white birds against a cloudy sky. A nightmare of a shoot to balance both during and post production handled nicely thanks to Lightroom 4 Beta version.

A solitary Ibis glides in the the evening's roost at Old Marsh Country Club in Jupiter, Florida.
Shot handheld with a Sigma 150-500mm lens at 430mm on the Canon 7D at dusk. 12,800 ISO f8 at 1/1000 sec. The sweet spot for this lens.

Once endangered and protected, the Ibis abounds in the South florida wetlands. This image reminds me of a hand painted oriental that hangs in my home.
